i have been avoiding learning a cloud provider for years. the heavy abstractions away from bare metal technologies always left me disgusted, but even i cannot deny the advantages of using cloud providers like google cloud and aws.
major cloud providers offer far more than a standard vps provider, and i figure it’s time i actually understand what makes the cloud such a viable option. to put it simply, these companies provide managed services that replace all the bare metal software and services that i’m used to spinning up myself.
aws is my target. it holds the largest share of the cloud market and the learning materials are abundant.
to facilitate this goal, i am working through the cloud resume challenge (aws).
